Default How should I mount my zune to my Tractor?

Yes...I Just said that, a big reason I bought a Zune again is because I have 5 acres of grass I need to mow like twice a week...

The problem is, how will I change my songs / play games or something mowing my yard!!? OMG!..

Well, I figured, maybe I could mount it to the tractor, it has hydrolic deck raise / lower, so it shouldnt shake that too much, its got power steering, so that'll smooth., and its hydrostatic, so it shouldnt be too much wear and tear.

For now, I googled a pic of the tractor.

I'll post a pic tomorrow

BTW This tractor runs great atm, putting mower deck on today =] Gotta sharpen blades.

Here is steering wheel:

And a bit of below:

Was thinking about in the above picture, make a rack, that is mounted with rubber washers or something to reduce vibration. However, It's not an easy task.

Ignore the birdie poo, it will be removed asap

I'll be trying to get a Zune 30 attatched, however, I'd like to have it to be removable too.

Comments ? Ideas?

You could use some duct tape.

Get velcro tape.

Cover the back of the zune with velcro tape with the fluff side with all the hair thing.

Stick a piece of the hook side on your steering wheel.

Wouldn't it come loose...fall...and get shredded by 60 inches of mowing blades?

Can't you just get a case with a belt clip and hook it to your belt? It should be secure that way.

haha that looks just like my tractor and i was also wondering this because i would like to be able to see the zune instead of tucking it into my pocket and put it on shuffle.

there must be some way to mount it to the steering wheel, but then there is the headphone cord that would get in the way...

Not if you have wireless headphones like me. They feed my addiction to all things wireless.

If you don't want to have it clipped to your belt and don't mind doing a some light work on your mower you can try this idea. You'll need to get a case for your zune. Try one that won't rip easily. A leather one might be best. You'll need to drill a few holes on your lawnmower that you would like to place your zune. Make sure you have holes where the corners of the case are gonna be so it'll keep the case from shaking to much. Once you do that thread the zune with some thread or wire until it's secure. Then put your zune in and see how it works.

I'd get a hardcase for your Zune, then hook it up with some Velcro strips. You probably get a jankety looking lawn if you play games while you mow..

Haha, Well that thread gave me an idea, just mount the damn thing to my wrist I usually steer with, HOWEVER, don't want it to fall off...that would be best, so I dont just get off and rip the jack out, it would be neat to actually mount it, however.

I was thinking about screwing a leather case into it and slipping it in there. That is doable.

What's wrong with putting it in your pocket?

I'd like to willingly change songs and such, or watch a movie or something...Sometimes music doesn't cut it.
