Default Why won't my Zune die already?!

So here I am, counting down days 'till my 2 year warranty from Best Buy is up. Surprisingly, my Zune is still running perfectly fine, 18 months old. The warranty expires in about 5-6 months, but if it doesn't die by then, I'm going to have to kill it.

You soon-to-be-murderer! Why would you kill a sexy Zune 30? They are awesome

I'm sorry you have a properly working product? Just be glad you didn't have to send it in to Microsoft. Then again, I think Best Buy might exchange it for a Zune 80, so, break it! And be sure to enjoy the pain you inflict upon it.

Yea, that's what I'm hoping. I'm going to call my local Best Buy to see if they have Zune 30's in stock. If not, I'll give it a try.

I have an idea!

Get some cable tie and tie the zune on a car's wheel tightly so i won't fall off, loop the zune with music. Then take the car for a spin and hope the G-force will kill the zune's HDD.

Cool idea, though I'm not sure if it'd work. Just picturing it is pretty funny, though.

You can try turning everything off in your house and or unplug everything. Then plug your zune 30 in to a zune outlet charger and then to a outlet. Then turn your circuit breaker on and off while your zune is plugged to an outlet. It might fry your zune...atleast that's what my friend said.

By the way I can't believe I'm giving advice on how to kill a zune.. I feel so wrong...=P

Or maybe I can just delete the firmware, and tell them it's 'just not working, no matter what I try.' I'm pretty sure 95% of the workers at Best Buy won't know what they're talking about.

That might work if you can do it.

zune30 wheel blingbling. Same thing can be achieved by strapping it to a washing machine in a waterproof bag.

"You can try turning everything off in your house and or unplug everything. Then plug your zune 30 in to a zune outlet charger and then to a outlet. Then turn your circuit breaker on and off while your zune is plugged to an outlet. It might fry your zune...atleast that's what my friend said.

That wouldn't work because i've already done that to the zune with my selfmade malfunction charger. The zune is still fine.

You might be able to kill it by feeding the zune with 110V household electricity instead of the normal 5v.

You might try shaking the Zune extra hard and 'accidentally' ummm punch it on the back a 'few' times.

I'd be careful about breaking the screen. I picked up my zune the other day at BestBuy and asked them if I could replace my zune if the screen cracked. The answer I got was not a pleasant one.

Bestbuy Clerk "If we can determine it was not intentional then we can but we don't replace abused items."

Me "So is my screen cracks by any means I'm **** out of luck right?"

Bestbuy Clerk "More or less."

Looks like I'm not to worried about breaking it then since i still bought the player.

I wasn't planning on cracking the screen. That's kinda retarded, no offense. It's very rare for a screen to crack by itself without misuse or abuse.

well, I accidently bricked my first Zune. I did so by applying -5V instead of +5V. I sent it in and MS replaced it so I'm sure Best Buy would too.

OOr you can not be a cheapskate and be glad you have a working Zune and go buy a new one if you want one so badly.

I mean what's the title of your blog?
