I can't believe im reading what I am.

You are coming up with ways to kill your Zune? How wrong is this! How SICK are you people? I finally find a player that has 95% of all the features I want and I hear people wanting to kill it?

Man... Whats this world coming to....

LOL
Um... they're not liers. They must be marketing people.

That situation only happens if you buy their extended warranty or something. Regular 1 year warranty doesn't cover that.

I'm actually looking to kill my zune too. Yea, I know sucks, but the dust is annoying me and I don't want to try and open it myself
My Plan: Walmart's warranty will fix the zune, but if the can't they'll give me a new one, which means a new zune with a good screen and working perfectly. And then I'll buy a case on that same day with a screen protector.
So I need some ideas too(I was planning on doing Lpx's erase firmware idea too, hopefully they don't know what is wrong.)

You might have trouble breaking it because the 30 is a tank, but why would you break something like that?

That's really the best idea so far. So long as you delte some important system files, it might not be able to boot correctly, or maybe it'll screw up the GUI. Who knows? Either way, to someone working at Walmart, it probably won't matter. I hate Walmart...

I have the exact same story going on for me. Two year warranty and all. Thats pretty strange? I mean I have dropped it many times, left it in my car in the hot sun and even used it when my hands are wet from washing dishes. All else said Zunes will out live every other device out there.

Gotta say I bought an Iphone and 10 days later, it already broke. The sad part is I barely even abused it. Now as far as my Zune 30, I've had that for about a year now and I've tortured that thing like you wouldn't believe and it still hasn't given me a problem. Guess that's the difference in quality between Apple and MS

My boyfriend broke his 30 gig by leaving it in his pocket when he was out in the rain. The water got in through the headphone jack and fried the audio output, he thought his headphone jack had come unattached.
