Am I crazy or does it seem like if you hack the zune to be recognized as a USB drive that you could possibly use a usb car stereo to access the files on the zune?
A few friends of mine use thumb drives on there head units, and they just drag and drop mp3's onto the thumb drives. The head units allow them to browse, and play. They work very well. Anyone think this is possible? Josh |

Not with the zune
The hd hack only works on the computer you apply this hack, it doesn't unlock your zune so you can take it around like a HD on any computer.

I don't think so. As you may know that hack right now allow the Computer to see your zune. Your not modding the zune your modding the computer. So you'd have to mod your stereo.
How would you do that? Exactly.

Maybe the computer would recognize the Zune as a portable hard drive, but I doubt the car deck would. I don't think it would be able to get through the file structure.
Many new car cd players have auxiliary inputs, so that could work. Though it would be nice to control it with the player, I don't see it unless they make Zune compatible car cd players. |

Didn't mtx make an adapter for the zune that used usb? I know it was in the news here on the home page a while ago. Check that. I also use a pie adapter for the cars that works awesome, but no control through the head unit, only on the zune.
