Default Worst USPS Service Ever

I recently ordered and paid for a brand new Zune 4gb on ebay. The user updated his status as sent on the 25. I hadn't recieved anything for the past few days, so I contacted the user and asked if he had a tracking number for it. He gave me the tracking number, and it said that the package had been dilevered on the 28th, but I've been checking the mail since saturday, and nothing has appeared in my mailbox regarding this. I have one of those big Gray multimailbox thingies that they rent out to you, so if its too big of a package they place a notice telling you to pick it up at the post office. I went to the post office today telling them that I had recieved nothing regarding this, and that I checked online and it said it was already delivered. The guy went in the back somwhere with my tracking number to check it, and he said that the mailman had already delivered it, that he put it in the box since it was just a small parcel. I'm currently waiting for a call from the postoffice, because the guy said he would check with the mailman to see what happened. I'm thinking that he either, put it in the wrong box( I often get mail thats supposed to go to people in other streets), forgot to deliver it at all and still has it in his truck, or stole it. Any other Ideas of what might have happened?

Wow, that sucks. Hopefully things will work out for you and you'll get your Zunes.

I doubt anyone around here stole it, the gray box thingies all have seperate locks on them, so I don't see how, unless the mailman did. They don't leave packages at my door because, they just go to this gray box thingie at the corner and place everything there.

That fails.
Just freak out at someone and they'll give you money.

I really don't think a post office person would steal something, unless they want to be fired.

Are you talking about a PO Box?

That's very unfortunate. USPS has been pretty good for me, and is like one of the few government run agencies that I don't hate.

Yeah I think so. I don't think that it's too likely that one of the workers stole it, but more likely that he put it in the wrong mail box and whoever found it in their mail box opened it, thought "Free Zune" and kept it. I often get mail that doesn't belong to anyone in my household, so I'm thinking that this is a possiblity. But I can only hope that tomorrow I get a call stating that they found the package. But that's about all I can do.

I agree with most here that the mail carrier probably did not steal it. However, it probably was put in the wrong mail box. I live in a town home and we have a similar big grey box for every 6 town home units -- and I often get my neighbors' mail and visa versa. I cannot tell you how many times my netflix DVDs are put in neighbors' mailboxes.

I would go door to door and ask your neighbors if they received it. They will either just give it to you or it will "magically" appear on your doorstep (if they are too embarrassed).

Good luck

Yeah that door to door thing is a good idea, but it would be to time consuming, so I'm just going to go to the post office and yell at them until they find the package, or replace the Zune.

Maybe the guy that sold you it got the address wrong or something, like he put one wrong number. Either way I hope it gets sorted out, that's just bad luck.

that really sucks I hope they find it or replace it. You'd think w/ something like that the mail person would have been a little more careful about putting it in the right box. Good luck
