Question [SOLVED] Play music from zune through PC

I just got myself a 80gb Zune and love it so far but I was wondering if it was possible to play music from Zune through a PC without having the library present on the computer. My brother has an Ipod and I know Itunes lets you play the music that's on the Ipod without having any of the songs present on the computer as long as the Ipod is connected.

I can see my collection but can't play it and from reading you can't use the Zune software but I wasn't sure if their was a hack or 3rd party software. I would like to get rid of some of my collection and free up some space and play my music through different computers.

Thanks

Nope, sorry. If you want to delete the content from your computer and keep it on the Zune, set the Zune to guest mode.

Do you live outside of the US, have Paypal, and want the Zune Pass? If so PM me.

What would the advantages be from playing THROUGH your computer? Wouldent it just be easier to use Mediamonkey or the Zune Software?

I think the point would be what he said, to free up space on his PC. I wish we had a feature like that but I haven't seen anything, never really thought much of it though.

Nope, sorry. You can't do that. It'd be nice though if we could.

Thanks for the replies. I though MS would have thought of that since it is still media they only reason I can see MS not doing it because the Zune could use mirrors and shadows rather than the actual file. It would be a nice feature than you can use your Zune on any computer that has Zune software and a sync cable.

if you really want to listen to your zune while on your computer, get another set of speakers and plug in your zune through that one...very tedious i know

Just run a cable from the headphone jack to the line in on your computer. I know thats not exactly what you're looking for but it will work.
