Did the ZUNE PASS work with USB connection or LINE IN? LINE IN should work...it does witih my Samsung P2 using Rhapsody Unlimited. USB shows "PROTECTED". I would love to know if ZUNE can play ZUNE PASS with USB...USB powers the player and allows the car deck to control along with voice.
I own a FUSION w/SYNC and have used an iPod Classic, Samsung p2, and KRZR phone with my SYNC. There are three ways to connect: 1. USB - voice & car stereo controls the song selection, volume, display, etc. 2. LINE IN - portable controls the playback...I also have to turn up the volume 3. BLUE TOOTH AUDIO - Car stereo can skip to next song, portable controls rest. Car stero & voice control are great because when driving the portable screens are hard to see in daylight. My Zune and Zune Pass music work through the USB connection in the center console of my Fusion with my SYNC. I use the voice command and the stereo controls, everything works as advertised. And like I said, most of my music is Zune Pass protected WMA files...

This is great news!!!! I will probably swap the P2 & Rhapsody for the 80GB ZUNE & Zune Pass. Rhapsody uses 160kb wma protected files where ZUNE uses something else so I have been hopeful. Are the Zune Pass files of similar size and sound quality? I have been pleased with the new release song availability on Rhapsody. While ZUne Pass seems to have fewer songs I hope it's similar for new stuff. I love reading about a new release and moving it to portable for listening. I then buy the CD/lp of what I like. I"ve been very pleased with my SYNC system. I like having a powered player in the center console with voice and dash controls. I also like the ability to switch to PHONE and back (my phone is in my pocket and blue-tooth connects when I get in the car). The subscription music is real new thrill. I've been playing lot's of new releases, some old favs I only have on vinyl, and exploring deeper some 70s soul & funk none of which I own. I and frequently adding and deleting songs and don't have to worry about ripping, tagging, etc. I have been ripping and tagging my lossless home stereo setup and will probably supplement ZUNE Pass with some compressed copies of my lossless library. THis is also good news. I have 400gb of FLAC from my CD collection connected to my HiFi with external DAC and Meedio HT display and control. The FLAC sound is great where the Rhapsody streaming was notably inferior to CD sound. I will try listening to Zune Pass on my PC connected to my HiFi. The AllMusicGuide integration into Zune sw and millions of songs on-line would give my library a turbo charge. Since I display the PC on my Big Screen I enjoy the visual & content....I have a MS wireless Media Center KB. |
