I've heard of songbird before. Do you mean you use it to play music?

He probably uses zAlt with his Zune.

Thats pretty kewl. Im curious how this is done? Cuse I really want MediamOnkey to work WITHOUT zAlt. No offence, I like zAlt but it would be nice to have the ability to use other Media programs (not that Microsoft would do this but I can dream)

Can you post a screen of it running on your songbird.
Some people are saying you can't and I also found this.

Hmm.... My zune is coming soon (wednesday) so I'm trying to find a good program to sync it with.

So are you basically saying that songbird automatically detects the zune and you don't have to use something like zAlternator to get it to work?

Yeah I've seen that picture.
But I need more proof.
Just press print screen and paste on paint, then just upload it.

Yeah, I'm not convinced either. Can anyone verify this? I'm on windowsME right now, or I'd try this myself.

No way! There's a site for the extension and everything! http://www.songbirdnest.com/node/1238 i'm gonna try now, but i fears it's only for the 30. and songbird i'd believe is only music, so maybe not videos, but i'll try

Edit: okay after looking it says everywhere that songbird only works for ums or usb mass storage devices. meaning it doesn't have mtp. shoot. got my hopes up.

That'd be awesome.

Here's, however, what I think is going on in that picture: it's just doing a data analysis on the Zune.
I would doubt it could play or sync

NVM!!!! It totally works completely out of the box (it automatically downloads mtp support)! I haven't synced anything and it's stuck on mounting, but here's a pic. Perhaps you still need to zAlt?

EDIT: (sorry, really excited) does this mean possible mac & linux support?! When I click on the info pane it says Microsoft Zune read/write! I'm gonna try. Still haven't been able to sync on windows though.

apparently, as I've been reading, the support only works for the zune 30. the zune 80 does lock up and nothing happens...i'll try it on my 30 later today.

When you say it only works on the zune 30, do you mean before the v2 firmware upgrade?
