This needs more information. Where are the dead pixels, and what are you downloading?

I don't have the problem, but it would be nice to have more information on what you are getting here so that others with this problem can know whether or not they should download this.

It is more than likely a video file of some sort that flashes random colors on every pixel. That is how you usually fix a dead pixel. The pixel somehow responds after being rapidly changed over a short period of time. I tried this on a monitor once a while back and it didn't work but I don't think I did it properly.

Worth a try if you don't feel like being annoyed by a dead pixel.

I'm confused as to what you mean by this statement. If you have a dead pixel you know it. The pixel will be stuck on a certain color. Sometimes white or black, or anything else (my monitor has a stuck green pixel). Anyways, in order to just see if you have one, open a picture that is mostly one color and look if anything is out of place. I suggest just putting an all black picture and looking. Believe me, you don't have to 'test' for dead pixels, you know they are there.

This solution is for people that know they have a dead pixel and need to get rid of it. It is also not a for-sure fix.
