I'll be happy to take those "rope-like earphones" off your hand :]

I wouldn't let the rusting in the shirt sound turn you away from getting the Zune Premium Headphones, I've had quite a bit of ear buds and theses are by far the best ones i've ever had.

Yah, i'm sure the quality of the heaphones over the normal buds make's up for that slight rusting noise on shirt.
Id suggest going with in-ear headphones to cancel out any outside noise. As for my favourite i'd have to say my current ones Phillips xxxx (I forgot what there called, I've posted it elsewhere)
in-ear headphoens aren't that expensive.. but don't buy the skullcandy ones.. those one sucks very bad.. i rather spend like $5-$8 more to get the JVC marshmallow, or you can go to circuitcity and buy it for $10 since its an unadvertised special right now.

How could this not let you turn away from them. Yes they are great quality, but so are many other brand headphones. The whole point of these type of headphones is to completely create a seal in your ear to block outside noise and create bass. With the rope, the only way you don't hear rustling is if you don't seal the ear buds in your ear. When there are other choices out there without this flaw, why would you buys these just because they are made by microsoft.
Is anyone else having trouble getting in touch with zune support, I called cause my headphones died and it just rang , I left the phone and it was ringing 10 minutes later(no exxagrtation)
I go through headphones like it's my job. And it isn't. So far I've wrecked at least half a dozen sets.
My favorite (and longest-lasting) headphones have been my Sennheiser PMX60s, which were pretty cheap but have really nice sound quality. They're probably some of the best behind-the-neck sets out there for their price range. A MAJOR plus is that they're easy to take apart and resolder, which has saved me a ton of money on the numerous occasions on which I've pulled out, torn, or otherwise damaged the wiring.
Grados are absolutely amazing for the serious, "I'm willing to wear 3-pound cans on my ears for the sake of sound quality" crowd. Sennheisers are also great in general, as are AKG and Koss. Some of my (wealthier audiophile) friends have headphones from these companies, and they are consistently high-quality.
I really liked my Zune Premium headphones (1st gen), but the left bud died after a few months, which was apparently a common problem with that first run. They were nice while they lasted, though. I'm guessing the new ones are similar - just make sure the buds are set correctly in your ear and try not to swish around too much. If you're going to be running or moving a lot, in-ear headphones are probably not the way to go anyway. For in-ear buds, Shure, Etymotic, and Ultimate Ears are the way to go, though they're a little pricey.
i've been trying out a lot of headphones that are mainly $15-$30... skullcandy.. those sucks very bad... JVC marshmallow.. bass isn't so great.. but its good anyway.. microsoft zune premium headphone v1, bass are good...
