Unhappy Did the software kill the Zune experience for you?

Did the new software kill the Zune experience for anyone else here, now that we've had time to reflect and let the initial emotions set in?

I for one have found my Zune sitting in a desk drawer; dead to me ever since the software upgrade.

That said, it's been exams time and I've been busy.....but that thing used to never leave me, now I find myself not even bothering to use it because I never use the software and would rather not listen to music than deal with that POS

anyone else still frustrated?

Lvivske! Man I haven't seen you around for quite some time! I'm not sure if you know, but MS has published a tool that fixes a lot of issues (namely meta tag errors with the new software). I would say don't give up on things....there should be an update in the not too distant future and it's already being hinted that many of the most complained about issues (autoplaylists, rating system, podcasts unsubcribing on its own, and general lag) are being fixed.....

Now if you use the Zune media collection reset tool, be sure that you haven't done anything prior to this (like try and fix the stuff manually). I've heard in some cases the issue got worse. If you have already done some fixes, I's say try and uninstall and reinstall...if you haven't done anything - simply download it and it should help somewhat..

Good to see you're still kickin' Lvivske

...Do you know what the original ZuneMarketplace looked like?

yeah, when the release happened it coincided with essays/exams

well, then i got the flu, and a massive ear infection, and then i had to make up my deferred exams

still pulling out of this mess, so havnt had much time to post on here

the tool looks handy but i fixed the issues myself, i still find it runs slow however, and it lacks all the features i need, making things frustrating

oh, and it freezes on me all the time....

I'm not going to completely trash the software, but its not that great it could be more user-friend and not have so many tricks to it...I do hate the fact that my album info does not match the pics, but I'm not going to worry to much about it...

Im getting more use to it everyday. I can deal with it. It's still easier to use than itunes imo.

I like the new software less than the last software. But so far I've managed with it. I don't like how they've changed it when you drag your music over. You need it in your library now. Its just a shame you can't use WMP or something else as an alternative.

Yep. It killed it for me. I'm not sure if the experience is significantly difference in Vista than my was in XP, but I was very disappointed. The hardware is perfect. The Zune player is full of eye-candy, but the functionality and system impact ruin the experience for me.

same here. I hate everything about it. my zune used to be perfectly organized and the program also perfectly organized. it really wasn't even too hard to do it either. now the program does what it wants and I follow along. I also have multiples on my zune device. last night I went to add 10 songs which should be a few minutes but it found 200 to add instead. who knows what it does because I have no control.

If you downgrade I'm almost positive going to the Marketplaces shows a picture telling you to upgrade.

i loved the old software. especially the fact that you could "edit track info". this new software is killin me. ive resorted to using mp3 tag to edit meta data

i'm a new zune user and i've never seen the old software. but so far this new one doesn't impress me. lets just say it caused me a lot of headaches. if i were to downgrade, what would be the benefits of that? is it really that much better? is it worth it? will i be losing any functionality? i don't HAVE to use the new software do i?

I miss the old software. I don't care if it was basically WMP reskinned, it was better than itunes. The new software is a resource hog and has less features in it, so I'm just using it for putting files on my zune not as a music player.
