What If Everyone Had Zunes? Do We Really Want It That Way?

So I noticed some responses here about people purchasing Zunes because everyone has an iPod and I was thinkin' well, what if everyone had Zunes? Would people get or switch to an iPod because not alot of people have it?
I asked myself this question and I came up with my own answer that I Love my Zune too much, but I'll just be really mad inside if I see more people with Zunes. I guess thats why I was never really too hot about the new Zune models of 80, 4, and 8.

Think about it, there would be more people here. Why? Most likely because everyone else who has a Zune is here, people who are just here to talk to their friends cause they are here not even contributing to the forums or the site, then there would probably more "leechers" getting a one finger click discount off stuff others uploaded just because it's there. Then former iFans are bringing their philosophy over and implying it to the Zune. You probably can't say anything negative about the Zune, like if you say that the Zune's battery life is bad then the former iFans might find a way to PM you pornographic spam.

I don't know about you all but I like Zune the way it is, I find it exciting that we are fighting fans that is much, much larger than Zune fans

I like how the Zune is being recognized but it seems to be growing exponentially. So far it seems the Zune is going to be big this holiday season.

You never want one company to control a market... that leads to high prices and low quality. Sound familiar? It should. It's what Apple did with the iPod. iPods are getting made with cheaper and cheaper materials, but the prices are staying the same. If that happened with the Zune, sadly, I'd hold onto my Zune as long as possible, but then eventually move on to a product worth my money.

The thing I like about Zunes is that we are the minority.... I know a small percentage of the 26,000 members on this site, and I'm glad that I do. I talk to them, I ask for advice from them, and I consider many of them my friends.

That's what's nice about zB.. I had a good experience with Zune because of the members. If suddenly the Zune was the "new iPod", I don't think I could stand all the Apple fanboys converting to "Owning a Zune is only for the elite". I would be ashamed to be call myself a Zuner.

I wouldn't say that everyone would run out and get the ipod if zunes were everywhere. I would say that the zune is a better product though. I love mine

. I wish there were lots of cool toys and accessories that were made for the zune like the ipod though. The thought of trying to stand out with a device is kind of silly. Still, zunes do make you look way cooler....because they are.

I don't. People buy products based on their quality. If Zunes were a quality product and the quality never faltered, no one would want an iPod.

If the Zune kept getting made of crappier and crappier material, everyone would want an iPod.

Agreed. Bothers me that I constantly hear about how "crappy" zunes are from people that have never had them. Especially when its my teachers...

It does give you kind of a surge, standing out that is, doesn't it? Of course, that really is the only reason that I got a Zune; because i don't follow the iFlock and do what ever one else is doing. I actually researched and got what I though would be best. I actually asked a bunch of people why they got an iPod and the actually said things similar to, "Well, I don't know I mean everyone has one you know... Why do you have a problem with iPods?"

I didn't read this entire thread so if someone allready said this i apolgize. But I love explaining to my friends what a zune is. I love having to tell people its a click(zune 30) instead of what everyone is used to (iPod clickwheel). Today in class I watched a girl try to scroll through my playlist(all 300 songs) unsucessfully for about 3 minutes until she finally asked how to go up and down. The best part of it all has got to be the shock when I get to explain how much it costs in comparison to the memory. Even my acient english teach was impressed. :-D

Im happy people are gettin more into the zune. I was at best buy and this employee tried to sell this couple an ipod to give their son for christmas and after the employee guy left I talked the parents into gettin their son a zune

I love the Zune I will admit i got it cuz its rare and when people see it they would be like WOW what is that and be all jealous haha but I also got it cuz im a fan of microsoft
