I recently owned an apple nano ipod..nothing special, it was great for what i needed. Then all of a sudden the screen breaks internally, i call apple, it's unfixable. Well great now i'm out of an ipod so I decide to look into a video ipod for christmas, I liked the video feature. But realized that I don't want to give my money to a company that's product just broke and from talking to people I've heard this happens a lot. So i researched the 30 Black Zune and like it but still need some convincing. Someone told me not to get a Zune because the software is a pain and really confusing. Please help me clear these things up. Thanks!

Its a bit bias coming from anyone here, but i'd still have to say the Zune is much better than the ipod, both in the interface (FM 2.2) and technology(Wi-Fi) wise.
Plus I think its better to have something that many people dont have. I'm from the UK so when I pull the Zune out people are like "whats tht", but with apple its just "ohh its another ipod nothing special" I'm not going to lie - yeah there are problems with the zune software but these can be fixed with updates (i.e what im sayin is its better to get bugy software than a bugy mp3 player). Hope that helps ![]()

First off, yes, the software is a pain in the ass and easily the Zune's weakest point. However, this latest software has been completely rebuilt so there are bound to be weaknesses that can be fixed.
The new iPods are known to be shoddy quality. Really, I wouldn't invest in them unless you have plans to buy another soon. The Zune 30, while it too has problems, is a solid device that works fantastically and looks sexy. It's got continued support from both the community and the developers (pushed out in firmware updates). As an added bonus, they're ridiculously cheap nowadays too.
