I am pleased to announce that a ZuneBoards user, wcnghj, has opted to make his own upload site. No more FileFront or worrying about stuff being deleted.
This site should mainly be used for the ZuneBoards users.

Upload limit is 800mb
No Porn
Allowed file types: ("txt","gif","jpg","jpeg","bmp","zip","rar","ac e", "wmv","mpg","mpeg","mov","avi","mp3")

The site only has a 100GB upload limit and needs donations of $10 a month. Plus, the more donations he receives, the more space he can purchase. Check out the site, but please don't upload meaningless files. This should be used to upload files that will be deleted from other sites almost indefinitely.

Bad News
I had to change this upload site to an FTP site, because Host Gator is limiting my php uploads to 8mb.

All File Types allowed

We are on a OC48 connection at the datacenter and all servers have 100mbps connections.

This is how it will work, NO anyonmus FTP

Regular Account:
FREE
5gb storage
Any File Type

Premium Account:
$5.00/month
10gb storage
Any File Type

Everyone will have their own subdomain

I know you said you wouldn't add .exe files, but could you? As a programmer, I can make some cool things, but as we all know, they are .exe files.

If you say no, what if we share our source code so you know it is not a virus? However, if that were to be, there would have to be some sort of contract that basically says you will not share the code with anyone.

yeh, but the denial for exe is understandable as people might upload malware and try to hijack his server. I mean you can just as easily compress it and upload it as both zip and rar are supported.

Besides, it's not smart to share source code with anyone that you don't trust, with or without a contract.

Now Fez, it depends on how it server works if I can just compress it. I know with Gmail, it scans inside the compression file for any unsupported file types. If it does this, then that won't work.

Maybe have a "trusted" account? For example, only allow people who have shown their trustworthiness to post .exes, like members of the Hacks and Mods team, ect. Thus, it would block in morons who just come in and try to crash the server, while allowing legit users to post their stuff.

Its all up to wcnghj, though. Let us know what you decide.

The exe files are not allowed mostly to get rid of the possibility of them being remotely executed.

but yeh the trusted account sounds like a good idea. but for that to happen he needs to set up accounts lol and it currently doesnt have that.

Here is how it will be set up; in order to become trusted, you must have at least 30 posts on
zB and be in a special group(hacks and mods,GFX, etc.).

Trusted Account:
800mb per file limit
Any file type allowed

Forget the Premium accounts for now ill get those later this week.

1.5gb per file limit
All types allowed
