Default Expired Zune pass songs won't delete off the Zune

I got the Zune Pass about 6 months ago and then let it expire since I just didn't use it as much.
However, the songs are still on my Zune and they're taking much needed space- about 20gb at least. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and really need all the space that I can squeeze out of my 80gb, plus it's SO annoying when I go to a song and it says that it expired.

What can I do to finally get rid of those expired songs ?? I thought they will delete on their own when they zune pass expires. I looked all over the net for a solution to this and it looks like I'm the only one with this issue

Thanks!

Remove them from your PC, and they'll unsync from your zune. Look inside your monitored folders for a \subscription sub-folder. If they're all expired, just delete that folder.

I tried doing that already-went to the "Subscription history" and deleted the subscription content. Also removed the folders for subscriptions and rips manually.

I think there are two problems:
1. I have manual sync for all items (don't trust the automatic one since it deleted things from my Zune in the past)
2. I formatted my computer when my zune pass was still active and never did another download for those songs again

You can clear the content of your Zune and then resync it.
-Hold Back-Up
-When the Zune logo appears, hold Back-Play
-Wait for your Zune to finish and connect it back to your computer to resync your content.

But that will delete everything that I have on my Zune? I'm trying to avoid that since there's music on there that I no longer have on my computer (no backups either) and that will mean that I will have to somehow get it back to my PC.

Do a reverse sync to copy the songs on your Zune onto your computer - that also gives you the benefit of having a backup of your music.

what about reverse sync for audiobooks? I have tons of stuff from audible, but since I formatted my PC the only copies I have now are on my Zune. I'd like to avoid downloading them again if possible.
I tried going into Zune's HD but I get "access denied" for transferring.

I don't know too much about Audible, but I assume there's some kind of DRM going on, there? Audible doesn't allow you to re-download, if your PC crashes?

Yes, it does, but it also means that I will have to download about 60 books (again).
I just can't believe that there's no better way to solve this and that I need to wipe off my entire Zune to get rid of those expired songs.
Well, I guess it looks like I don't have any other option...
