Default Whats with the whole 10 songs thing?

i have been wondering this for a while, and seen another ad about the 10 free songs, so i decided to post a thread asking this.

i dont get what is with the 10 free songs, i mean, if the zune pass is supposed to let you have as much music as you want, what would be the need for 10 extra songs? can someone help me see a little clearer on the whole point of them?

Ok. You ready?

Zune Pass lets you rent (essentially) the music you listen to. You can't listen to it after your pass expires. Those 10 free songs are like your purchasing 10 songs. They're yours. Permanently. Ten years from now any of those 10 free songs a month will be yours. Those songs you used with Zune Pass will expire.

You can continue to listen to the 'rented' music as long as you pay for your pass. As soon as your pass expires, the ability to listen to music also does.
