SCORPIO hits a snag(2)

OK....since the big glitch and all the posts were deleted (including my original thread on this topic) I'm reposting....

According to ZuneScene, a source from Microsoft has reported an issue in the production of the new 80GB hard-drive Zune. The 2nd generation Zune (codenamed SCORPIO) is now to be delayed due to "a significant percentage" of units "experiencing continuity problems between the flex cable and pcb." Basically a wire was coming loose.

Emergency meetings were conducted and a new "S" design for the cabel was implemented to relieve tension and resolve the issue.

The reported production was to be finished by Aug 31st which would've probably set the release well in time for Christmas (possibly September or October). But now Microsoft may be hard pressed to do so. The flash Zune (codenamed DRACO) started production July 23rd and is expected to be complete on time (August) and may be out as early as September.

hm, i have a good backup flash player already. but if the price is right and the features on it are good and penty on the draco... well ill consider it.

hope the wifi is compatible with draco-to gen1 to scorpio

lol man games for the zune are coming out sometime around july 2008 - or so ive heard. I think Steve Ballmer or someone else from microsoft said so.. and if im not mistaken, its going to be there on the current zune as well (via fimware update i suppose..) Just hope they give a few free games like the ipod has.
