Microsoft's upcoming digital media player, 'Zune', will come preloaded with music videos supplied by music group EMI, reports BBC News.
Zune, thought by many to become the prime rival to Apple's iPod media player, is a recently leaked project by Microsoft that will have software, a download service, and a range of digital media players see the light.
Details of the device recently leaked over the Internet, including the fact that Zune will include an FM radio receiver and Wi-Fi capabilities a feature that is deemed as one of its most noteworthy competitive edges over Apple's iPod, according to iTWire.
With Zune, Microsoft once again managed to hog consumer's attention through a series of leaks, reminiscent of the build-up to the Xbox 360 launch at the end of 2005.
The music industry and consumers alike have welcomed the news of Microsoft entering the portable digital music ring: "Apple has been an important partner in building the digital music market but any well-funded serious entrant has got to be good news for the artists and industry," said Jeff Kempler of Virgin Records America in an interview with Reuters.
Zune is said to be slated for an end of the year launch.
