yeah, nothing new, but I would think this is just what's being initially offered and we might see further support for other formats... Here's to hoping...

i saw this the other day and took the liberty of doing a little research about something but anyway
heres what i found out:
the reason why formats such as avi, mov, png,DivX etc doesnt get added to most pmp. is because the majority of people who use these formats are piratesor "smart"internet literate people. and MS would have to pay royalty fees per codec, per device sold ..which in other words means only a few people will actually use it(people like us) and as for the not so smart people.. its a waist of money for MS

Thanks for clearing that up! Perhaps if the ZuneHD equivalent of jailbreaking an iPod happens, more codec support could be added? Maybe?

Well I don't really mind. A few extra supported file types for images would have been nice, AVI would have made life easier, but I have Badaboom and a GTX295 so I don't mind converting files. If anything I wish there would have been support for FLAC, it can't cost that much to license, considering how it's technically GNU.
Personally though, I like the 33 hours of music.
But, the lack of info for the Canada release easily trumps any other annoyances.
Both 16 and 32 gb can hold 48 hours of video... hmmm...
Also, in case anyone might enjoy a fun fact, all Zunes that have ever existed have been able to hold 25,000 pictures, no more, no less
wow, cool fast. but how would they be able to share the same storage space in videos unless it was compressed more in the 16? and then it would be not as good quality
