I wonder how close to the 15th Microsoft can go until it has to finalize the software? Several posts suggest it still isn't final, but they have to have some time to get them all packaged and ready to sell.

I've been wondering the same thing for a while. How long before the release date can they make modifications to the thing? At some point they have to start getting it packaged and delivered to the stores.
There's still 23 days before it ships, so I'm wondering if that's enough time for Adobe to allow Microsoft to make a Flash plugin for the browser. I dunno if everyone heard, but it's Adobe's fault dealing with licensing issues why Flash is not allowed on the device at this point. Maybe Adobe will lighten up and allow MS to make one, or Adobe could make it themselves. Of course, there's always time for a firmware update later on, but I think it would be better for Flash to be ready out of the box.

figures it wouldnt be MS's fault. why is there always licensing problems with MS
I went to the one in Grapevine, Tx (dallas). The very first thing i noticed was, WOW it is so small. You go there expecting it to be pretty small but once you see it it's like WOW thats tiny! It does feel very nice and firm in your hands though. The main woman who was showing off the zune hd had like 6 fake demo zunes that were to scale and stuff but didnt have anything inside them. They were just dummies. Then 2 of the women had real ones that they walked around and showed people.
Me and my brothers were talking to the main chick for a long time and she showed us a bunch of stuff i obviously already knew. (BTW, the thing where if you touch the big play button on the home screen works very well at auto shuffling all your music, very nice feature) but eventually I got the lady to let us touch it. While she wasnt paying attention to the screen i clicked on Marketplace and I saw the same APPS thing that is in the video, but i couldnt get a wifi service as well . But, I went to the internet and got to try out the keyboard... It works suprisingly well for its small size.
She was extremely focused on not disclosing any information. anything i asked she would pretty much be like "well they are still changing things for the better so i cannot disclose any information (about the flash and release date for the other colors and apps).
But it is turning out to be an incredible device that i cant wait to get my hands on
1. Release the names of at least 3 different apps that will be available at launch
2. Release a video showing off at least one app
3. Release a video of a game being played (not PacMan. more like the Burnout Paradise we've all heard about.)
