"There are a total of three buttons on the thing," he said. "On the front, near the bottom, is a silver button that takes you back to the home menu. There's a rocker on the upper left that you can use for volume up and down and to trigger onscreen transport [Play, Pause, Next, etc.] controls. And there's a power button on the top. That's it."
He also mentioned the web browser:

The Zune HD web browser is based on a "flavor" of Internet Explorer 6, Seitz said, "but you won't recognize that. We did heavy, heavy customization work on the UI, and it's optimized for multi-touch, gestures, and finger-based navigation instead of a stylus."
He does say more info will come this summer... We'll let you know if we hear anything! Hit the link to go read the entire interesting article that goes further to talk about Zune and Xbox integration, the ZuneHD's OS, and more!
Rocker button? O.o Anyone have any examples of "rocker" being used on other devices?
The 2G iPod Touch has one, and most cell phones have them on the side to turn up the volume while talking. It's a physical button on the outside of the ZuneHD so you don't have to touch the screen to turn up the volume. It's a nice feature especially if it is in your pocket and you just need to adjust the volume quickly...

The UI is nothing like IE 6. IE 6 was not web compatible, it was slow and couldn't render very well. It was also very vulnerable to attacks.
IE 8, though I prefer firefox, isn't that bad a browser.
IE8 is the worst of available "now" browsers. IE6 was a lot quicker and lighter.
You've...used IE6, right? It's not exactly the world's greatest starting point. >.< At least IE8 is making steps towards compatability with website standards, but even it has plenty of problems.

Well, naturally. Opera Mini is actually the second most used mobile browser, ya know, and Opera Mobile ain't shabby either, with Flash support and tabbed browsing.

Why are you all talking about Internet Explorer 6 for PC? By Internet Explorer 6, they almost certainly mean Internet Explorer Mobile 6, the newest version of Internet Explorer Mobile. See here. They are wrong in saying that it is derived from Internet Explorer 4 (for PC).
It would be incredibly dumb to try to port an Internet Explorer that was made for the PC to a mobile device when they already have an Internet Explorer for mobile devices.
So please, stop comparing something that is completely different and related only by name.
