I hope that its at Least as good as an itouch. I just can't help but wonder if MS will come a little short. I never had a Zune but I have been window watching and its awesome but the ZuneHD is like a dream from MS. What is the difference between OLED and LED?
LCD displays require backlights, as they cannot generate the light themselves. OLED displays can produce the light themselves, meaning no backlight and sharper, clearer images that can be viewed from multiple angles.
Thanks. I was just curious because I was comparing what they post in the Zune site about the ZuneHD and what the itouch has to see if it makes a difference. I hope it has more features

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.
LED = Light Emitting Diode
My guess is that LED displays are the same deal functionally as OLED ones, the only difference is that OLED's are made of different stuff, are much thinner, and don't live nearly as long. LCD's need backlights.

So to clarify things (>.>), the current Zune's have LCD (not LED) displays, which require backlights. The ZuneHD will have an OLED (organic light emitting diode) display, which is thinner, uses less battery than an LCD display, and does not need a backlight.

Microsoft is going to need to open up the software and allow people to design applications for it if its going to really compete with the iPod Touch or iPhone. And I'm really hoping Microsoft does this because the ZuneHD has so much potential.
well, as a big Zune fan, I was ( like every other Zune-Fan ) very excited about the press release about the Zune HD. And while it is very nice to have HD Audio & Video, the new NVIDIA Tecra chip, Internet Browser and OLE display, it's a shame that I will not be able to upgrade to this nice looking Zune.
My Reason you ask ??? Well, it's the 16GB & 32GB flash memory BS !!! For a HD player ( a 2 hour movie is about 4.5GB ), 32GB of memory is ........... wellllllll........ like NOTHING !!!! Currently, I have split my MP3 and WMV collection over a Zune 120 and a Zune 80 ! And I am running out of space pretty quick. So, MS should have done better and produce a Zune HD with a 250GB HDD !!
Now why would I buy a $400 ( or so ! ) device if I not even can put 10 movies on it............ and no mp3's after that ???? Nope, won't happen until something happen with the Zune HD ( maybe in the future ) to make it accommodate more stuff !
It will be probably a nice toy to play around with, but nothing practical.
Too bad.

JCE

You have no idea what you are talking about, yet you claim to know what Microsoft should have done, seemingly angry about it.
Not only is it impossible for them to do what you are whining about them not doing, if they did manage to make a ZuneHD with a capacity of 250 GB (it would have to be SSD), it would cost at least $800.
If you want to whine that you can not fit 15-20 hours of HD video onto a device such as the ZuneHD, whine that you can not fit your unnecessarily large collection of music onto the ZuneHD, or whine that you can not get what you seem to feel entitled to get, go to the Flame Board. That is what it is for.
