Because it feels much nicer to use touch screens that are made of glass as apposed to plastic. Its also nice to know you can wipe the screen on your clothes or use some type of cleaner without worries of scratching or chemical damage.
There are strong plastics out there, But Glass+Metal FTW.

me too. my 30 has been faithful to me as I will be to it. I'll just use it in a different manner. Probably keep it in the car instead of the cd's I use now or use in my bar area. Take the videos and movies off and use it as music only.

I'm hoping that even though it wasn't mentioned, it's still in there. I mean they haven't come out and said which processor is in there, so I hope it's just an omission...
