Starting tonight around 11pm Pacific Time which is about one hour from now your Zune passes will essentially have the price dropped because you will be able to keep 10 of the songs you download each month. Basically if you paid $1 for each of those songs, you've spent $10 of the $15 you pay for the pass meaning it comes out to $5 per month. It will be interesting to see how many more people will pick-up a Zune Pass because of this new addition. Cesar also mentioned in his post that about 90% of the 4+ million tracks on Marketplace now are available as DRM free mp3's.
Happy Zuning Everyone!

So, are those 10 tracks that you get to keep "forever" DRM-free? I would doubt it...
They are as DRM free as any other Marketplace download. That means that any DRM free MP3's will remain as such. You are simply credited with ten free downloads as a part of the Zune Pass.

im curious, if we dont use them do we lose them? like say i want to buy an album with 17 songs, can i not spend and credits and the next month have 20 and just buy the album straight out?
It is a gimmick to buy points. I don't have points but have the pass. I tried a ton of different albums with 10 songs each and clicked on buy mp3's, and kept saying buy points and still showed I had 10 credited songs. So it is just crap. Another thing just to get more money out of you, and you really think your getting 10 free. Probably trying to get your hopes up.

A bug does not a scam make.

So what are you saying? It is not funny. I just wait until my subscription goes before they fix the bug? Still either way is crap. Either way I missed that months 10 credit. The way they fix bugs it could be up to 3 months before the bugs is fixed. So don't laugh at something that is stupid in first place. Some people don't have credit or money to get the pass renewed. Some people get these things as gifts. So these bugs or games or whatever you want to call it, is not worth the time wasted to get more problems from one of the biggest companies in the world.

I was laughing at the fact that you infered that because it didn't work for you it's just a scam to make money. Anyway, it's not like you're losing anything by the service not working right on the first day or two, you're not being charged extra for the service. It just so happens that you get a free bonus tacked on.

This is one of the coolest things I think they have done. I don't see how someone could call this a gimmick. I now finally have Enter Sandman on my Zune, I'm so happy, Thank you Microsoft so much, still loving my Zune and will for a long time
