120Gb Zune Confirmed, New Software/Hardware Udpates Coming!

Straight from the man himself, Cesar Menendez, the Zune Insider has confirmed the 120Gb Zune is going to be a reality (So would that make it a Zune 120?).

The best part of his short but insightful message is that there's more:

"You've probably all seen about 120GB @the FCC- and just wanted to send you a note to confirm that is indeed part of the plan. There's definitely more details coming in the way of new software and hardware, pricing etc." -Cesar Menendez

No doubt this is extremely credible since Jason Dunn over at ZuneThoughts has consistently delivered on the goods as we've seen in the past. So let the speculation begin! What does Cesar mean by "new software and hardware"? New software? As in another redesign? Zune 3? I'm suddenly giddy!!...

Wow, can't wait to see what comes of this. I was already expecting a new software/firmware upgrade soon, but a new zune as well? Can't wait to see what they do.

Woot!!! I just hope the 120 doesn't look like the pic.. we need something new. Not just a larger capacity 80 gig. Can't wait for the new firmware/software though.

My guess is it will probably cost around $300 and will probably be released sometime in November.

Maybe the software will be fixed once and for all

. I figure a non touchscreen 120 will go for $275 and the 80 will go down to something like $219.

Yeah but it kinda looks different from the 80GB if you look in the pic its shiny(more like the little red ones).

Hmm. I'd love a thinner Zune 80. I'm all for upgrades, though I'm not sure if I'd hop on board since my Zune 80 isn't full. I haven't really had any problems with the software (fix the ratings please-10star ftw!), but new features are always welcome.

Hopefully if this is released in the winter, it will mean price drops on Zune 80s. I'd definitely wait for a price drop instead of getting one soon.

Cesar does mention something in the way of pricing. Here's the catch - Apple is rumored to be dropping the price on much of its iPod line, so we may find MS doing the same. All previous notions of how Zunes are priced will go out the window!

So do you guys think I should wait until after the release of the 120gb, to purchase an 80gb? This is what's holding me back haha. Perhaps the 80gb will have a nice price on Black Friday?

If I were in the market for a new player, which I probably will be by Christmas time, then I would wait. Upgraded Zunes and new iPods are all coming. This is the worst time to buy one if you ask me since it'll be outdated in a matter of days or weeks.
