This time last year, not even a million hits were registered on Zune.net, but with increased attention on Zune due to increased advertising, more and more people are visiting the site these days! Over 2 million visitors in May! Also, of those visitors, Zune was rated 2nd in length of time each visitor stayed at the site (35:26 minutes average).
The top winner of the study is Zune's antithesis Apple Inc. but that's expected since Apple deals with more than just media players.
Over all: Zune placed 6th in overall visitors in May (May '08 in millions, May '07 in Millions, % growth)
Apple Inc., 50.53, 44.98, 12%

Dell Inc., 14.82, 16.64, -11%
Sun Microsystems Inc., 4.70, 3.71, 27%

Looks like the advertising is starting to draw major attention to Zune!
Not to be a naysayer but this isn't that good. Apple has different products and maybe people were looking at them all. Zune is one general project. The help part of the Zune website is terrible, as is much of the other site. Trust me, the longer people are on the zune website, the worse the situation because it means that people are looking at ONE product (without much variation between each Zune).

Good to hear. I'm hoping that the Zune community will become larger and more visible so I can see more people on the Metro using them... because of the social device, Zuning during transportation can be a bit exhilarating!
Typical Microsoft strategy, and I'm glad it's working out for them. I managed to get myself a V1 30gb from a colleague in the states, and I haven't looked back; HOPEFULLY they'll see some sense and realise that the hits to zune.com aren't just coming from France. England needs some of that social love, baby!
It's fantastic to see that the Zune website is pulling so much attention. It is only being beaten by companies who are very multifaceted which definitely shows how much attention the new marketing is garnering.
Increased advertising would help! I remember seeing the original zune commercial [haha i only saw it twice on tv] at random times at 2 in the morning. I'm definately seeing more zunes now too. Zune will beat iPods sooner or later!
