YELLOW Zune?

Already people are digging into the new Zune Software trying to find exploits to take advantage of, as I'm sure quite a few zB members are busy doing right at this moment! Already some people are finding the fruits of their labor. Long Zheng at istartedsomething.com has found a new color embedded in the Zune Marketplace.

What could it be?
A new limited edition Zune?
Something Microsoft is going to release later?
Could this be a preview of something?

It's called the Citron Zune from it's citrus yellow complextion, no doubt (or maybe the vodka?). It's unique in that it has a cool lemony hue, but with a black ZunePad and backing. Almost lamborguini-esque - what could MS be hiding this for?

Well, before you make any plans, according to Paul Thurrott, it's a commemorative gift to every Microsoft Zune Team member.

It's said to hold 16Gb of storage space and will not be available in stores. But what I speculate is if it's already possible to put 16Gb in the flash Zune form, when will it be put in to production and sold to the public - with or without the citron color?

I actually really like that color. If they make an 80 with it, I may just have to pick it up.

id also love a white+silver or white+black, or a black+black

the current zune80 doesnt appeal to me much and ill be waiting for much cooler colors. THIS one gives me hope that my day will come :-)

I think they should make the Zune to be able to customize your color. There should be a way that the Geek's at MS could imbed some kind of back lite that can be customized to suit the individual's preference. If they can make a 80 gig HD this small and compact you can't tell me it isnt possible. Once they figure that out, then anything is possible...sports team logo's, a favorite picture...you would only be limited by your imagination.

I was just saying that if there is technology that allows for that size of hard drive to have that much capacity, then sooner or later you will be able to customize the color of these things.

I don't think it is that far fetched, the technology is probably already there.

I am aware that color and hard drive size and capacity do not have anything to do with each other in a literal sense. Technology has skyrocketed at an incredible rate is my point and I wont be surprised when customization such as color happens.

Heh... I want one of those... they'll probably be just as hard to find as the hot pink and orange Zunes... probably harder, since MS isn't randomly putting these in Zune boxes. At least, I don't think they are...
