[Insert Favorite Band/Celebrity]'s Playlist?

A Microsoft representative hinted recently to the possibility of being able to monitor your favorite band's or celebrity's playlist and/or play count via the ZuneSocial website. We've already been able to download band's/celeb's playlists (or atleast the one they give us), but with the new functionality of ZuneSocial, members' playlists and playcount of each song is displayed for everyone to see including band members and celebrities (that's as long as it truly is that person - not some PR stunt).

So what's [insert favorite band name here] listening to? How 'bout [insert favorite celebrity name here]? It would require these people to have ZuneSocial membership of course, but it's a [insert appropriate adjective here] idea!

They are trying to turn this into Myspace...

Yeah, I think that's the goal too...but it's a convergence of two mediums. Social networking and Music. While Myspace has music (any bets how long it takes for Myspace to copy?) it's still pretty limited as to how you can tell others 'bout your favorite music. ZuneSocial will do that and more!

Yeah, they are really depending on 'Synergy' to save them. The relations between your computer, your Zune, your Social Networking site, and your XBox 360. It is going to be crazy, man.

this is far from exciting for me, personally i have no care in the world what artists are listening to...

I dont really think they are trying to turn it into myspace.

Its...kind of a sub par idea though. When you think about it.. Listen to what you want, not what your favorite celebrity does.

I'd consider it more of a novelty...

Well, how long till you have tons of 'Band Pages' on the Zune Social if they have this feature?
