A New Xbox 360 May Add to Zune's Capabilities

a new Entertainment Xbox 360 has been reported to be in the works. Toshiba and Microsoft are teaming up to integrate some new features that some think should have already been incorporated in existing Xbox’s.

The new Xbox will have:
-A Built in HD-DVD silent drive
-Built in wireless capabilities
-Built in HDTV tuner
-A port to connect MP3 players – probably Zune compatible
-Expanded memory capacity

The new Xbox is not slated to be ready until late 2008 or early 2009, but speculation is already mounting how this could give added functionality to Zune, and maybe what we could see from a Zune 3.0. How cool would it be if you could record HDTV and then sync it to your Zune to take with you! Also, could this mean the next generation of Zune have HD imaging (since 2009 is when everything is going HD/digital). Maybe HD digital radio in the Zune? Definitely looks promising and this would make sense from a recent agreement between the 2 companies…

Oh yeah, saw that on engadget. The port would be sweet, if it's a dock-type thing like I'm thinking. HD would be nice too, but I'm not sure how fast it would catch. At least audio wise.

now i know video game consoles go years between developement for new system releases. but this 360 rehash seems like a good idea, except i believe they should have originally been released as such. but, these days the console market really has been reduced.

personally microsoft has some serious competition with the Ps2 and Ps3. i mean the Ps2 is still in stores and is selling products still and very well.

oh well, perhaps this could save me $ for when i do get a 360, i like accessories and features. i just really hope its designed intelligently

360 doesnt have to worry about the ps3 at all, nobody is buying them

they just dropped the price to 400 out of fear of dying out of this race

So is this new 360 going to be in production or is it just another rumor. I was saving to buy an Elite 360.. i may just keep saving if this thing is true.
