The best part not metnion about the new firmware is WMA LOSSLESS support on the device.

The Zune is now a REAL audio player and not an mp3 toy.

ok maybe its just me but the zune30 had like 3 or so firmware updates in a year... so if you have the zune30, will we get all of the updates that will come along with the new zunes or just the initial one?

Could someone clear this up:

Will MP4 support be given via firmware update to the 30GB Zune owners?

Will the new zune work as an external HD?

That's left to be determined.
What is known is the new Zune does have a more powerful processor so it can do more than the original Zune (I'm talking about the Zune80 - not the Zune 4/8). That's why the original Zune won't have DVD quality video out like the Zune80 - it's just too much for the older version to handle. So that could mean that we may see newer updates for the new Zune80 that the Zune30 will not get....but that's technology....updates for your computer wouldn't have been possible on older computers - the same principle applies here for Zune...

Question

Someone said that the Zune 30 will not get any new codecs. Is this really true?

The Zune will also get WMA Lossless and podcast codec support.

This includes the Zune 30!

Question:

If we can't use it as an external HD, do we know if the hack that currently allows you to do this on the 30 will work on the 80?

This is the single most frustrating issue that I have with Zune. My sync stops constantly and it gets really annoying, if I could see it as a HD it make life so much easier.

Since the hack basically allows you to change shell properties of your computer, when the new Zune Marketplace and firmware come out, that should not effect it in any way. I'm thinking the HD hack will be one that will still work....as for the other ones....I'm not so confident....
