Default Come on....

When is the announcement officially?

At least Apple had a set time and place for their big announcement. This is bigger and important to me and I want to be right there as it is rolled out.

Anybody?

It was officially announced yesterday, but the media couldn't report on it until midnight last night.

But you'll start seeing all kinds of new stuff right away. There's already videos of people using them. Just gotta look around.

The event was held last night.
Press only.
Now go read the reviews...
you can find them everywhere...

And when did Apple ever announce an exact date of a firmware update?

Firmware?
Everywhere?

I've searched, maybe not using the "correct" search words, with google and and all I find is the initial Zune launch announcement.

What "key words" should I search with all mighty god of ZuneBoards?

And you know what I mean so pleez don't be "THAT" way.

You can go find out all the new specs about it everywhere, but as far as a date, get in line buddy, 'cause we're all waiting to know...
Watch the video and SEE the firmware here http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/zun...o-zune-v2.html

The firmware will, almost definitely, drop the day of or the day before the new Zunes release.

I really missed the bus on this one.

I thought it would be a large production number to equal Apples iPhone Show.
I had no idea that Microsoft would put this information out in a press release. Is this just a "wait 'til you see what we're going to do!" tease to tide us over until November 16th?

So do you think Microsoft will have a large public show-n-tell on Nov. 16th?

Sorry for the confusion but this is very exciting and I thought I missed the "big bang".

couldn't they just wait until the day before to let us know about the firmware...Life was better when I thought there wasn't a update coming now I want it bad now....we all have waited to long for this firmware..

And does anyone else think it's fair that we all gave Microsoft the full price for thee first zune and now they are giving the band wagoners the good deals...they owe us big time.

This better be the biggest firmware update ever...they had all this time to fix all the problems.

Umm, Yea. I think its perfectly fair. Thats how the technology world works. I think its More then fair actually. I always expected firmware updates which would add features and functionality, and they never came. I ended up being dissappointed and pissed off that I even gave the zune a chance. Now, I feel as though I'm getting ran over by a Ford F-550 towing a 5-ton bright green tractor being driven by a half naked Jessica Alba with a huge "!THANK YOU! -Love Microsoft" sign on the front. Its Great! Microsoft could have made the new wireless syncing available only on the new Zunes. But, They didn't. They decided to give their users things they have been waiting for all this time and not leave anyone behind. Sure, They took their sweet ass time doing so. And current zune software still makes me want to throw my zune at a brick wall just to see which would break first(Probably the wall). But hopefully with the new software, that will be gone. And soon I will proudly be able to say again that I Am A Zune User(*cough* And an iPod Touch user *cough*).......... I'm sleepy.

I am really happy Microsoft is making the old zunes' similar to the new ones. it rewards the early adopters and that's something companies need to do more of. Wooo for wireless syncing!

Pretty big disappointments from ZuneInsider today...

Quote:
# On screen resolution is 320x240 - but new Zunes will import 640x480 withouth transcoding. Video-out resolution is 640x480.
Not old zunes. I could live without that, but the thing I'm realllly disappointed about is this:

Quote:
T

There are reports that Zune 30 will not natively support the new video codecs either. Is that also true?
Quote:
admin

t - zune 30 will transcode content that into .wmv, and will natively support wma lossless.
I hope thats not what it sounds like, but this means no native support for new video codecs on old zunes, the thing I was really looking forward to.

I mean its nice we're getting some new features, but it seems like everyday I'm hearing about what the old zune CAN'T do.

So the new v2 Zunes. Can't wait.

I don't have a Zune yet, getting one for Xmas, and I have to know. Do the new Zunes come in 30GB also? I'd really love to have the video support codecs because theres a really small change my parents will decide to grab me an 80GB.
