No, that was what engadget's early headline suggested. But they changed it when realizing their mistake

Can't wait for this update. Good to see MS not screw us on it.

I still don't buy this picture of 2.1 Firmware. They changed the font of the word "zune" and moved the TM. Looks like a good attempt on somebody's part, but I'm not holding my breath on this. Let's hope it's not too far from the truth.

that's what I was wondering too. sounds cool tho. they might inlcude a phrase every time there's a new update.

Anyway MS, need to stop playing around and give us updates every few months or so. i dont want to wait almost another year for 2.2. It's just not right...and frustrating.

How do we know that they will actually make an announcement? Have they rented a public facility and we can see the records? There is a rumor and speculation "from a close source" that there will be something...but that's it. I'll believe the rumor when I see it come true. And, seriously, if they wanted to fight the iPod, they would invite every single member of the media and make it a huge event. We'd know about it from real sources already.

Until then, I'll anxiously keep reading and hope I'm wrong. I want to see updates.

Why all the skepticism? So far the leaked photos and tidbits have been pretty accurate.

So far the only thing that can be remotely confirmed has been the pictures.

Sorry, but FCC filings (of the flash-based 4GB and 8GB Zune) can hardly be defined as "remotely confirmed".

I have seen the FCC photo. And yes the FCC photo confirms the storage size and psychical characteristics of the Flash Zune. But it doesn't confirm the colors or capabilities. Nor does it confirm anything about a major Zune announcement or event tomorrow... I'm just waiting to fully believe anything till I hear it from Microsoft.
