Zune Marketplace v2 First Look

Some unsuspecting Zune owners woke up this morning to find their Windows update had downloaded an errant Zune Marketplace update.

Version 2.1.0522.00 looks to be a non-functioning version of Zune Marketplace, all it does is display your library...that's it. But it does give us a first look at what we can expect by November 13th! Looks really NICE!!

EDIT: DID YOU NOTICE ZUNESOCIAL IS BUILT INTO ZM...LOOK ABOVE 'VIDEOS' IN THE SCREEN SHOT...

That is how they got it in the first place. Check one of the other Zune related forums on a Zune 2.xxx. A user installed an update with that on their laptop and viola that is how ZB got it.

Though, the problem the user has now is that they cannot sync their Zune because of the new Zune program. Probably needs a Zune with the new firmware to work or it probably doesn't have the Sync capability working.

So...at the moment it works as a preview but not as a full working program for Zune use.

Anyone noice that's not even maximized? Wonder what it looks like fully maximized....
It looks like a complete departure from the WMP-ish looking Zune Marketplace we all know well....I hope it's easy to navigate...

I think it really looks nice and is a huge departure from the drab black/grey of the orignal ZM....me likey....

man i can't wait to get my hands on this, i hope they put extra colour choices to choose from. much like how msn u can change the interface by dragging a slider.

too bad they didn't have their zune connected maybe they would of gotten an errant release of the new firmware too. I knwo they tried to sync, but it may of been removed by that time.

looks nice! i hope it's less sluggish. even with ZMP turned off, my zune program has so much music that it is pretty slow when you first start it up.

What's going to be interesting is this version isn't really an update.

Microsoft has rebuilt the Zune Marketplace from the ground up...so maybe a few program files will remain (i.e. sync files, online ZM access files) but for the program itself, it wll be a complete overhaul from the original....

To somebody who has received this update, either:

1. Do a complete system search (including hidden and system files/folders) for "zunesetup" or the like, find the .msi, .exe, whatever and upload it.

OR

2. Just .zip or .rar the whole C:\Program Files\Zune directory and upload that.

If anybody does that for me/the H&M team, they will receive my thanks and rep.
