Well people. I download a converter for zune to convert my videos to a format that zune will read but after noticing that it take a lot of time I discover something.
I dunnow if someone has managed to get this before.
Well if u changed the format of the video to .wmv the Zune automatically will transfer it to ur ZUNE.
Example if u have a .Divx, .Xvid or .Avi video just change the extension to .wmv and try to sync it with the ZUNE.
The zune software will add this to the library, then u can go back to the file that you changed the extension and change it again to the real format.
Now transfer the video from the LIBRARY.
Now u have the the video without using a 3rd party converter.
Lol the Zune hardware simply does not have the decoder to display Divx/Xvid (what many people here consider to be "AVI" although a variety of different formats have the extension .AVI). Even if you put an "AVI" file on the Zune, it will still not be able to play it back! It's like putting a data mp3 disc into a CD player that doesn't decode MP3s!
I transfer a lot of Xdiv and Divx to my ZUNE.
Last one I passed was final fantasy VII: Advent Children and a lot of .avi files.
Another thing to make sure that if transfer is to after sync it to the library be sure to come back to the file and change his extension to the normal one.
Then transfer it.

That would be correct.
I've also noticed that Zune doesn't really seem to convert videos at all. If I try to add a certain type of video file or whatever to my Zune system, it'll just give me an error. I think if you don't have a compatible video format, then you can only convert it manually. Makes me wonder why the program supposely converts files in the first place when it really doesn't. lol
When I said transfer divx and xdiv files and avi I was referring no to transfer it without converting them, I was referring that it was capable of reading them and the Zune software later convert them to the format that is supports.
And theres is an evidence of what is ZUNE capable of.
Only that this is a registry hack. http://www.zune-online.com/news/zune...-and-mpeg.html
i use psp video 9 to convert my videos and then send them to my zune quality is great.
ditto, but i dont have the zune yet so I cant talk about quality.
biglo, did you do anything to increase quality when the zune software converts it, or leave it alone?

I think the best thing to do is just get something that will convert any format to .WMV
Then, whatever size or quality that is, it will get directly transferred to the zune because it reads .wmv
this thread has me TOTALLY confused. so it's agreed that of course the zune can only play WMV. but we also know with portable media center devices, there was support for converting a wider range of video formats to WMV right from Windows Media Player. now i assume that when you install the PMC software that comnes with your, say Toshiba Gigabeat S, or if you have XP Media Center Edition you already have many of the needed codecs on your machine. as long as you have a video codec on your machine, WMP should be able to convert the video to WMV as it copies it to your PMC. but it's a lot of testing so they could have disabled the support for any foreign format other than MP4. this reg hack may actually unlock this untested ability. (http://www.zune-online.com/news/zune...-and-mpeg.html) has anybody tried it?

Some people have tested that hack and found it to be very raw, and terribly choppy.
I'd stay away from it.
