I cannot find the Zune on my network on channel 11, so it probably does not support ad hoc
On another note, a good network monitoring program to look for is Net Stumbler.
I just tried finding something with Net Stumble. I didn't a thing. I'm also going to add that the drivers for the zune are not installed on my laptop. Everything connected to my zune is done on my desktop. Maybe if someone with linux tried?

It doesn't have a MAC address. I'm not kidding. The way it will be connecting directly to the Zune software is going to be a feature implemented later that will use a DSWP it will require NO MAC address since it will not be connecting directly to your network, but rather connecting to your computer through your network Via your Zune software. I've been doing more tests on the Zune than many of you would think imaginable, with much more complicated through programs than most of you could fathom. Please just believe me when I say you are wrong, I do heavy research in to most computer things before shooting most people down.
Is what they are calling it. It is stable through Windows. It works off many other wireless protocols that are installed with windows. So, are we done?
sorry, but this is un-logic, and there is no sense in it, protocols are programs that governs the communication between devices, protocols are on certain layers of the OS layer, and they are always above the physical layer, hence, there is always a physical connection that between two or more devices which are addressed in different ways such as MACs, IDs,......
if u scrolled up to previous pages, u would see my screen shot of the connection to zune with vista, and will see the MAC address of the zune, however, logically, every wireless device works on one of the IEEE physical protocols like 802.11a, b, c, ...etc, and each one of them has the MAC address in its MAC layer .....
also wheres your link about DSWP i can't find any info on it not even MS's website http://search.microsoft.com/results....g=en-US&q=DSWP
