Not me....at least not for a couple months. But speaking of the processor, is it just me or is the processor REALLY loud? It is worse than my old maxtor hard drive.
I believe you mean the harddrive, I'm not sure, because I don't own a Zune, but I don't think so...

thats nice to know since i no some people that want to run linux on a portable machine like this zune =]
and since the zune is equiped with 30 gigs gota do partition's lol
Fat chance. Just because Palm put a version of Linux on their PDA's, didn't really help them do any better...I can't see it do anything for the mp3 market.
Perhpas for individuals who are interested in things like Linux, but for the most part, people don't care about Linux on their mp3 player, in fact, most people don't pay attention to the OS their mp3 player uses.
yea..but putting linux on there give us a chance to upgrade the zune with third party software/firmware and make it much more usefull, since it's open source

Yes, I understand the advantages, but for the average person, I can't see it making a difference. Most of them either use their pirated mp3s or their decrypted iTunes music...:-/
I'm borrowing my friends while I wait for mine to arrive (On the 18th, YAY!) but his is very quiet, no noise what-so-ever other than that which is leaving the headphones.
I think 1.0 was the one that they sent out for people to review. the one that could brodcast music to other people instead of just share it could play it for them. Sort of like a fm transmitter.
It was not a beta since they were taking out in public and showing it to people that would write reviews about it.
On the subject of zune running linux. Im aware this is simple logic but using the registry hack could you not place the linux kernel on the zune while syncing and then (still while syncing) launch it. Then all you would have to do is a bunch of porting and cosmetic stuff, right??
Srry if i am completely wrong im still new to this kind of programming
