It seems way to obvious but I have an idea for Linux on the Zune. There is a website called www.ipodlinux.org and they make, you guessed it, Linux for iPods. The iPods share a similar processor as the Zune and they practically use the same Hardware. it would be too easy to try to install Linux that way but anyone willing to give it a go, try their installers and replace the ipod directions for the Zune equivalent. Kirby pretty much nailed it: It won't work. Period. For one, the zune firmware is designed TOTALLY differently from the Zune's, and for two, the ipod is recognized as an external HD, and can have installers executed upon it, whereas the zune can not.
