This is interesting. It might make it possible to play .mov files as a video instead of it being converted. It lets .mov files be added to the Zune as podcasts, but converts them if they are added as videos.

Has anyone else started testing this? Would really appreciate some feedback from anyone with an AV output lead and the time to test what resolution videos can be saved to the device and played on a TV.
Ok, so I have done a few tests regarding directly injecting .mov files.
I used a small .wmv for the base, and a 20minute .mov clip as the content (with a resolution of 320 X 240 and frame rate of 25).
And although the .mov was easily copied over to the Zune30, when I try to open the video I get the "This item is missing or cannot be played" message. This is the same message you will get if you try to play a .mp4 file you have injected.
I don't think it will let you play files that aren't compatible. That message you got is exactly what I got when i put incompatible videos on my Zune 30 when the HD Hack was working. I think the most you can do with this is put files on the Zune, but you won't be able to play them.
Is that all anyone really cares about is converting video files, come on people it's a ;omoted portable computer with a wifi antenna, lets do something real.
