Well thank you! I think that sounds pretty cool and I think I'll try it later. What do you mean by 'if you really want to know, I can post the instructions'? Do you mean adding actual options in the zune software like we used to be able to do?

This is how I did it

Open up ZuneShellResources.dll in Resource Hacker, navigate down RCData and find Framebackground##.PNG -- these are the raw PNG data stored. Highlight any of the 1033 branches under one of these PNGs, and simply go Action -> Save Resource as Binary file. Name it, zuneback1.png or something. As long as it's a .png file you should be good.

To replace the image, choose Action -> Replace other Resource. Choose your new PNG image with Open File with New Resource...
Resource Type = RCData
Resrouce Name = FRAMEBACKGROUND##.PNG -- it's important that you do not make up a new number, and to simply replace one of the existing ones (00-05)
Resource Language = 1033

Once done, save it out and enjoy,

I actually think I have that covered in the original post, but thank you all anyway. I thought you found out a way to edit the Styles.UIX or something similar.

If you would have read alittle bit you would have seen that it's be done yet with the newest software because they have encoded the styles file and I am guessing no one has figured it out yet? Because I would love to change the font colors

Default Nice

Very Nice find.
I was playing around with it.. I was able to change the icon of the zune. When you go start all program zune and click the arrow it show up, plus when i pin it to the start menu.

Now to do it.
Click Open then find where Zune.exe is located on your hard drive. my is C:\Program Files\Zune\Zune.exe .
Click Open,
Then click Icon Group then IDI_APP the 1033.
Go up to Action Button click it then Click Replace Icon
Then click open file with new icon.. has to be a .exe, .dll, .res, ico.
Whatever you choose click it then click open, then click replace
As you see I used command prompt, I also used the registry icon.
Then Click File Save As, and highlight Zune.exe, or Zune.
Ask if you want to overwrite click Yes.
We are almost done.
Now lets go into the Zune Folder by using My computer. Onec again mine is C:\Program Files\Zune.. double click the folder and click any where to refresh the folder.
Now you should see the icon u replace it with. Go over it Right Click it and select pin to start Menu. Also i had to go into the zune folder on start all programs delete the one that is in ther and drag it from the start menu.

You can Change all the Letter, but DO NOT get rid of exe or it will no open. Next time you clic the zune icon. Once you change things for example I change the Company to whoa baby.
Click Complie Script
The Click File Save As the click Zune.
The go back to the Zune Folder thru my computer.
Click refresh then right click then select properties.
You should see ur changes on the version and general tab.

Good Luck yall
