Default Using the Zune 120 as an external hard drive during a system restore

So heres the story: I just bought a Zune 120 (freakin awesome I love it) and am in the process of reformatting my hard drive and starting out fresh.

How could I use my Zune 120 as an external hard drive, and would I be able to pull the data off of it once I reformatted my computer? I'm planning on putting all my music and data files on it so I can take it off once I reformat the computer and all that.

I looked it up and found a few posts from 2006/2007 about it (lifehacker and popscience) but I'm not sure if they would work with the 3.0 software.

Anyway, let me know how I could get this to work. Thanks!!

really, the only thing the iPod has over the Zune is the optional use of the external harddrive, and the EQ, both of which could easily be added into an update to make the zune that much better.

Zune has an EQ. but only on the 30. It used to be a hard drive... but that is misuse in Microsoft's eyes
