Question zune 120 battery

Hi I got a new zune 120 and I want to upgrade the battery but I'm cheap so I went looking for a good battery that might be laying in an old pda or something.
I ended up finding a 3.7v 1540 mAh battery out of a Tapwave Zodiac.
So what I want to know is if it will work and how much better it would be.
and any tips that I might need.

Thank you

why upgrade? it will void your warranty just to let you know. if you really want a battery just check eBay and see if theres any better battery.

Because the battery life is not that long. and all the ones on eBay are 3.7v 850mAh with a +6 battery life. whatever +6 means. plus I said I was CHEAP I don't want to buy something if I don't have to. but in vs. eBay battery are 3.7v 850mAh the battery I found is 3.7v 1540mAh.

i just want to know if it would work and if it would do better then the eBay +6 battery.

so no one else is going to say anything? no help?

If its the same voltage it should work but there could be other things that would make it incompatible like current perhaps?

i personally wouldnt do it seeing as it voids the warranty and if your zune breaks you will be SOL.

Default battery mod

this is the zune hacks and mods section, so why is everyone giving him a hard time? I think its a great idea, but make sure all the numbers add up, if there is an Mah rating, they need to be the same, also you should watch the temp during charging, as you may overheat and cook the zune, there is also space constraints to worry about.

yea, frankly i care nothing for the warranty of these things. But if you are going to do it, realize theres some things you want to check out. Zune 80GB & 120GB Battery: RapidRepair that's what the batter looks like. Make sure the size looks to be about the same as size is def an issue to keep in mind.
ZUNE REPAIR GUIDES: RapidRepair here is a guide to open it, it shows the use of a plastic tool, i recommend buying them as it's great if you ever get into workin on zunes and ipods as i once was, but if you dont then use a soft plastic material to open the zune. Just be careful, electronics are not something you want to PRY and use too much Strength with.
Zune Batteries
shows that the battery they give is a 950 mAh. so check to see if your is similar to that as well. I dont see much issue with heat, never really had one, they're pretty good with the zunes these days for adding heat protection sheets in it.
Just be careful bro, you're new to this and this is an expensive first-try. But you have my support.
