This isn't a hardware hack, possibly a sort of DRM hack? not sure, anyways though you can stream your music downloaded from your Zune Pass through Orb - from ww.orb.com!!! I have a blackberry and can't necessarily take my Zune everywhere I go, but I always have my phone on me .. I setup Orb so I can watch TV on my Blackberry Curve (works AWESOME btw - just need a tv tuner in the pc) and one day, to my amazement, I browsed to my music and was looking at my Zune Pass downloaded music in the list ... ok, that's nice I though, it won't play, its protected content ... WRONG! So, if you have an iPhone, Blackberry or any other web enabled phone, you can stream your Zune Pass protected music to it!! This also works on any computer on the internet - so you can be at a friend's house and stream all your zune music to it - and it costs absolutely NOTHING!! This is by far one of the coolest things I've found in a while, aside from, of course, the 3.0 firmware!
ENJOY YOUR FREE STREAMING! This isn't an ad for orb - this is just a very cool way to use your Zune Pass even more! Last edited by bryeds : 10-11-2008 at 09:46 PM. Reason: misspelled word |

Ya, works very well - I love my zune, but I primarily use it in my car ... when I'm at a client's location working on their computers, there's often downtime (waiting for an install to finish or a copy to be done) ... or it would be nice to listen to something - and now I can stream the protected music anywhere! You can search for artists, albums, songs, I believe it even has genres. You can setup favorites (much easier to do on a PC on the web) and just jump to a favorites list - pretty handy!

Ya, no kidding ... I literally stumbled across it - was looking for some non subscription stuff, thats all I expected and lo & behold, the subscription stuff was there and it played!
So, if you were using it with your Wii, you could then stream your Zune Pass music from the PC to your Wii or PS3 as well - not just and ONLY the xBox (better than the rest anyways, any Zune owner should only own an xBox - haha) |
