Quick question: Why does the application request an age. It should request their maturity as age is defined by when you were born, not when you decided to become mature. I know 14 year olds that are smarter than 95% of our population and vise-verca.. So I really don't think age should be spoken unless freely stated by the applier.

My Application:

I am a Canadian with knowledge of Linux programming languages and libaries (C# specifically amoung java and vb, C++, etc). I have spent alot of time playing with xBox mods, and currently Zune and PSP mods. Amoung other things building application for the PSP. I have little knowledge of reverse engineering, and surprising I have abit of free time a day.. Around 2-4 hours depending on the day i spend on the computer and playing with my zune. I don't leak things as my job requires (Programmer, I sign A LOT of NDA's)..

I could go off on a 15 paragraph rant on how I think that mods and hacks should be entirely opensource so everyone within the board can view them, etc.. But I would rather not.

With your programming experience, do you have any knowledge in hardware-software interface (ie sending packets via controlled software)?

Yeah, there's currently alot of issues about how if we share our knowledge, but other sites don't, they get all the credit and they hoarde the knowledge, and the same thing could happen the other way around. The way I see it, we need a large open knowledge base with ALL the zune sites participating and pitching in, not just us.

However predispositions have killed those attempts in the past, and likely will do so in the future. (ie the rodent infestation)

I think the main reason it's asked, is because age has a big part in how much time you'll have, and how much effort you'll most likely end up committing.

Age, no matter the person, is a bearing on maturity, and the ability to understand certain things, concepts and processes. The brain doesn't even finish developing until the early 20's, so being 14 and being 19 may seem like only 5 years, but it can be a world of difference.

Also, the idea of asking someone to attest to their own maturity is just plain silly.

Also, if your babying about how we might not let you on the team because your too young, don't. The oldest person on the team is 16, and it's not me.

im 13 and the rest of team isnt much older and we still program the pants of M$, so in other words Zuneboards is not age discriminent, and if you really can hack, it wont get in the way one bit

Well stated, I'm 17.. I have experience with Jtag Debugging (router, and I'm checking out zune), reverse engineering Firmware (Mainly PSP and abit of iPod)..

Any other questions? Most hackers I know are under the age of 20. But I won't get into that.

You said you have experience with jtag, that is excellent ive been looking into that myself, can you post some of your work? and reverse engineering firmware.....sounds good to me

However i feel it is fair to warn you that if you do frequent another site you cant leak anything and you will most likely only be given access to the rogues board which is just one step shorter than the HnM Board itself
