Default An idea but an uneducated one

What if you could create a "game" in C++ that would simulate syncing or w/e that is done in the Zune software then have it overload the zune so it freezes in that syncing stage.

Or better yet make a "game" in C++ that would ovverwrite the .dll's of the zune or temporarily do that to enable it to do other things?

These are my first thoughts on a subject i am not well studied in btw.

1) XNA 3.0 doesn't support C++
2) You can only connect to other Zunes through XNA
3) You don't have anywhere near enough access to modify the firmware

Alright then.

1: What language does XNA use then?
2: I never wanted it too.
3: We don't necessarily need to modify it.. yet.

1) C#
2) ohhhh, I thought you meant simulate syncing with the Zune Software, you meant syncing with itself, right? That won't work because even if you somehow did that, the program would exit once the Zune got the sync signal, XNA can't run in the background. Even if through some bug it did, what would locking it in sync mode accomplish besides having to restart your Zune?
3) Well that means you can't "ovverwrite the .dll's of the zune or temporarily do that to enable it to do other things?" If you could as soon as the Zune resets the Firmware gets cleared and you have to reinstall the firmware from the Computer.

Oh lol i meant C#

Last time we had a zune stuck in syncing mode you could transfer data to it. Which is one idea i had of using a code written in C# to make it go there then freeze it untill a restart of the zune.

I thought overwriting the .dll's was a bit far-fetched since we're so little into the hacking the zune yet. I'll have to do a bit more thinking into things like this. Thank you for the info though.
