Zune Software V2?

I'm Sorry but i am very new at the zune hacks and i was wondering what exactly the zune software v2 IS and what the difference is.

There have been 3 major versions of the Zune software:

1.x was basically a skin for Windows Media Player with a few added features and Zune support
2.x was a complete rewrite and looks a lot like the current version
3.x is the current version and makes a few changes, though isn't anything revolutionary
