i havnt gotten it to run. i got it to OPEN (well, kinda) once, but then my system crashed and i had to reboot. then again im running linux on one of my old towers (640MB, 1.6GhZ) so that could be one reason lol
EDIT: nvm im thinking about when i was trying to get mediamonkey to work. i was gonna use zAlt to let the zune sync with MM, then wine to run MM in ubnutu. but i couldnt get MM to run in wine
I've gotten pretty darn close to running zmp in Gutsy using VirtualBox to run XP Virtually on my Linux destop...
I got it up running, stable (not even taking too much cpu); the only problem is that VirtualBox Networks shared folders to the virtual drive in the virtual OS and ZMP and WMP won't play mp3s from a networked drive (arghhh!)!!!
I got the pictures in there tho and they sync fine but its really no use since the music (the reason that i got the thing) won't be recognized due to stupid ****ing restrictions on my own, NOT DRM'd music!!!!!
I've Been waiting for someone to get the Zune to work on Linux, I can't wait
As I can't do this myself, someone else should try it out, and they can even use wireless sync while connected via USB to the linux machine: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/zun...tml#post205115
try it and comment here or there if it works, I even suggest sharing the music folder.
Ooooo... Zune, on Linux? Intriguing. More incentive for me to dual boot Linux and Windows. Once everything works though.
would you be willing to try what I suggested in my previous post?
I found out: unless someone can use a software to link the folder to a folder on their system's hard drive it can't work, good idea anyway..
