Default Hindi/Telugu on the Zune? [HACKED, SEE NEW THREAD]

I liked the unicode hack and tried to see if I could get my Zune to display Hindi and Telugu. I took the Mangal and Gautami fonts and consolidated them using FontCreator and saved it as msgothic.ttc in a new directory called Fonts on the part of the Zune hard drive that has the music (not the ~150 mb system partition) using an enclosure. Should I be putting the fonts in the system partition? What am I doing wrong?

UPDATE - I also tried creating a "Fonts" folder in the system partition but that didn't do it either. I've even taken Arial Unicode MS and saved it as all four of the the supported TTCs in both the system and regular directories but neither the Hindi nor the Telugu is displaying.

That would be a cool new twist on a zune...cause if they can do Asian characters on a zune then most definitely Hindi/Telugu too.
I hope some hacker here like Nurta and them help you too.
They should too.

Well, if anyone is working on it, give them a bit more time if they are having problems.

I'm just going to try downgrading to 1.4 and doing it again.

Ok, I've tried a lot of different things. Unless someone has a program which can edit TTC files, there's nothing I can do. Apparently the Zune confirms that the files are actually having the name SimSun, etc in the TTC data. I had tried loading Arial Unicode MS and other TTFs as the TTC but that was worthless. The Zune even refuses SimSun as a decompiled TTC file. I can tell that it verifies the TTC name because SimSun under MS Gothic's name would not load. This is really over the ****ing top.

Update: With other TTF files compiled into SimSun TTC, zune only loads the first two tables. If SimSun is recompiled such that a different font is in one of the first two tables, the software recognizes it as fake and then stops. I have tried editing one of the SimSun decompiled TTFs and recompiling it but that still doesn't load the proper unicode characters. I might be approaching this in the wrong way as I'm sure the unicode info isn't being carried over properly as the characters get displayed as boxes even as the Chinese displays fine.

It would be nice if some other people could help with this.

Believe it or not, I've actually tricked the pre-version 2 Zune firmware into displaying Hindi and Telugu. I need to retag my songs so that they will display but once that's done (might take a while, I'm lazy), I WILL be posting PoC pictures.

It has some noticeable text rendering bugs but this is still huge progress.
