The folder created in the HD hack

When you create a folder for the HD hack, is that folder supposed to be unprotected? Meaning shouldn't I be able to rip stuff out of it and not have to do the HD trick?
Another thing, what is it a folder protected actually called? A locked folder?

The folders on the Zune are not what doesn't let you get at them. The Zune itself locks out everything (except deletions) until it gets a certain singal from the Zune software. Without that signal, you can't take anything off of it at all, user created or not.

And yeah, I think they're just called protected files.

maybe we should be trying to create an artificial signal of the zune software to send to the zune device to better unlock the hd hack....

Someone had used a port-sniffer in another board and it turns out its a line off random numbers and letters that are created by the Zune software.

I'm not sure if it can be recreated ???, but I'm sure something like that is being worked on...
