I was thinking...there are many exploits in Microsoft programs surrounding Jpgs, Gifs, and Video files....could these be used to maybe run code from or run an exe.

There arein't as many as you would think, you must also realized this isn't a regular windows based operating system. It won't have the same run time librarys and the such.

well theres gotta be something....theres no way i can believe that M$ has finally created a flawless anything. Theres something in here that will crash and allow us to get in..im just tryin to pick up some angles as best as i can. And i thought someone told me something about Zune using a dimmed down version of IE for something. i just cant remember who/why...so i was like..IE, exploits...

Contrary to popular belief, Microsoft is NOT an evil company full of morons.


Also, it is not as easy as making a .exe and changing the file extension to a .jpg. It is going to be a while before we see any major things, IF we ever see anything.

i never said doing sumthin that retarded...i kno u cant just change extensions...which is why i was referring to the exploit where .jpg's can hold malicous code, like javascript and stuff. And as of right now, the only real answer to that question that i have obtained is No, but not becuz of M$ NOT being complete morons, but becuz the zune software when it syncs, sees that the file is not a true jpg and sends an error. My next thought, is maybe cracking the Zune Software program, and patchin it so that it doesn't ship errors. Surely thats doable...

ing....better yet, f*cking hilarious...seeings how that has nothing to do with the question i asked. My question was never, renaming a executable to a jpg. But you being the overwhelming genious should have realized that. The question was if maybe one of M$'s old known exploits, the backdoor-Jpeg, could work in this situation. You dont know the backdoor-jpeg...hmm..then you must be one of the blind effing idiots out there that's probably open to any exploit as it comes out.

I asked my question as a serious question to be answered. I stated the facts behind why i was pulled to the question, and my theory on it. So far the only person that really touched down apond answering the question, without throwing out a stupid comment about a simple renaming of .exe to .jpg, which you two must share the same braincells for to come up with that idea, was Mys Videl. So i thank you for that. You other two, really need to either STFU and go to a different thread more on your league because you're obviousley aren't here to help with ****.
