[SOLVED] Recruiting

We are currently looking for some good hacks and mods members. We ask that you have some experiance in working on difficult tasks such as these. Anything you have worked on, and proof of some of your work would be great.

Everyone is allowed to submit their application, however due to the risk of leaked information we will only accept people we believe would be trust worty. We would like people to have good people skills as well, because for this posistion anything you release will most likely have a lot of questions to be awnsered.

You need to have the ability to remain active, that is also a must.

I know C++,ASM,ASP,VB(May not be useful),and HTML.
I haven't launched the programming studios since 2005.

Dr. I.Q at your service, I have dabbled in many types of code (java, html CSS, C++...) but its been awhile so I couldnt do anything too difficult there(I would be willing to dust off the old books and give it a try though). My real skills are my organizational and public skills. Along with that I can do several minor things. Of course you'll never meet a person more worthy of your trust I own a 30 gig black zune with which i could also test hacks. I hope hope my resume is to the the groups liking. I've got a question, If you've already got linux running why do you need to assemble a hacking team?

After recent events in the staff board, she's deleted her account.
That pretty much puts us back to square one, since she was one of the few staff that had any hacking knowledge; that's not to say that we aren't still recruiting, it'll be just on different parameters now.

yet the first reply is on January 26, 2007, 07:05:20 PM and there were post made a couple hours after this thread was made

No. I've been watching this thread since it was created, and for some reaseon, nobody did post until a couple of days after it was created. You'd think that people would jump at an oppertunity like this...

I would have posted on the first day, but being the idiot I am, I Personal Messaged (?) my application (which was rather extensive) to Mys Videl. I didn't find out until the next day, however, that she had deleted her account, never to return again.

Anyhoo, I would like to apply for the Hacks and Mods Team. I am far from a hacker, but I am willing to put a lot of time in for the cause of openning the horizons of the Zune. I also put a lot of time in on this site (you can look at my profile an post records). I am also quite willing to learn the skills needed to be on the H&MT if I don't have them already.

I have easy access to my Zune (Black, btw), my Windows XP MCE Laptop, Windows XP MCE Desktop, and PCLinuxOS Desktop. I have a number of "hacking" programs and can quite easily get the ones that I need.

PM me on whether or not you think I am the right guy for the job.

If you really are putting together a team, I'd love to help out. Granted, my experiences with hacking is somewhat limited to hardware (check out my custom battery pack post) and video games (Check out this video of a paintball video game a I tore apart and rebuilt with real gun models, sounds, etc. Also see my groundbreaking halo paintball mod. Both of these done several years ago), I could still be very helpful with development and testing. I'd be more than willing to put my Zune on the line for the sake of progress.

well ya know who i basically am. Im UAKTags, basically the guy who would like to help sponser this operation anyway i can...and now am lookin to also be part of the team. I'm a VBer...I do HTML, yea who cant. I've been fixing hardware probs in computers since i was about 12 (17now), ok big whoop, anyone can learn that. I've over the past year, become really popular in different business and topics which has aided me in coming across new goals/markets which aided me in earning some good cash. So i came to ZB lookin to use that cash to help with this cause. well still looking to do that, i've seemed to come across amybe something i can do to help as well. VB...i have an idea that has arisen...and i'd like VB (preferably vbstudio users) and C++ programmers to email me at uak@uaktechnology.com. oh yea, this is my application to the group, if i haven't already been accepted :-P

Okay. Since everyone's so bored, here is something to take your mind off the waiting:

I was messing with my Zune the other day and I noticed that songs copied off of the Zune HD and back onto my computer were still "timed" .wma's (expirable), and since my Zune Pass had expired like a week earlier I couldn't play them :'(

What this leads me to believe then is that if expired songs can be written directly onto the Zune, you can still listen to them. This is probably because:

A. The Zune doesn't recognize the expiration date on the .wma's or
B. The Zune has a line of code that ignores them


Either way, this would help a lot of people get free music if we could figure out why exactly the songs still play on the Zune but not the computer.

I don't have the skills to do this but you guys sound like you do. Have at it!
